Innovations and tokens, read together: the machines, the money and the numbers that connect them.

inotok reads two stories that are usually told apart. The first is technical: chips, models, robots, batteries, rockets, the physical progress that arrives in labs and factories years before it arrives in a headline. The second is monetary: tokens, cryptocurrencies, gold, the stocks of the companies that build the first story, and the prices at which all of it changes hands. On this site the two stories share a page. The name says it: inovations and tokens.

What we publish

Long reads in five departments, fourteen explainers for the basics, ten calculators that run in your browser, a timeline from the transistor to the token economy, a glossary, and the markets page with live prices for the coins, metals and stocks that price innovation.

Where the numbers come from

Prices on this site are fetched by our own server from public market data sources, cached for five minutes and delivered from this domain, so your browser never contacts a third party. Stock and index quotes are delayed. Crypto prices are aggregated across exchanges. Metal prices are spot prices per troy ounce. Every figure is indicative and none of it is investment advice, an offer or a recommendation to buy or sell anything. The markets page tells you when the data was last refreshed.

What we are not

We do not sell tokens, signals, courses or leads. We take no payment for coverage, we hold no positions we do not disclose, and we do not run advertising networks or trackers. When a company, a protocol or a fund is named, it is because it is part of the public record of this field.

How we write

Every long read explains a mechanism before it discusses a price. Numbers in the text are dated. Where a figure is contested we say so. Where we do not know, we say that too. Corrections are published at the top of the corrected page.
